Year 3

A+ R A-

One of our main aims as a class this year is to increase the pace of our reading. In order to do this and become more fluent in our decoding, we will be focusing on reading more lengthy texts with more complex vocabulary.

In light of this, our first text this term is the Roald Dahl clssic, George's Marvellous Medicine. We will be reading this together as a class and will be exploring a range of reading objectives through this text.

We will be concentrating on learning how to write effective newspaper articles and playscripts this term. In addition to this, we will be developing our understanding of sentence structure, punctuation, spelling and the use of vocabulary to create different effects.

We will be studying classic poetry towards the end of this term through Clement Clarke Moore's T'was the Night Before Christmas
