Year 3 and 4

A+ R A-

Class Information

Reading:

As stated on our literacy page, we will be focusing on improving our reading pace this term. Therefore, please read at home as often as possible. This makes a huge difference to confidence in reading and allows fluency to increase and develop.

In order to help children develop the specific reading skills they will need in Year 3 and 4, they have each been given a VIPER bookmark. This contains the key reading skills and questions you could ask your child to help them develop their understanding in these areas. If you discuss one of these skills with your child, please sign their reading record stating which one you have covered. Children will collect ticks on their booksmarks according to the skills they have covered and will receive a treat when they have covered each skill three times.

Homework:

Homework will be given on Friday and should be returned to school the following Tuesday. If children do not being their homework, they will be required to complete this at Homework Club during their playtime. Please ensure spellings and timestables are practiced for weekly tests and that reading records are signed.

Thank you.

PE:

We will have a session with Carlisle United every Thursday morning this half term. If you do not have a full PE kit, you will be unable to take part.
