Year 3 and 4

A+ R A-

Science

Our science topics this term are States of Matter and Sound.

Sound

We have been looking at how sounds are made using drums and rice, tuning forks and our guitars.

State of Matter

We are working scientifically through classifying and grouping and testing.

We started our topic by exploring balloons filled with ice, water and air and discussing what this tells us about solids, liquids and gases.

Today, we came up with our own song to help us remember the properties of solids, liquids and gases.

Our States of Matter Song

Solids they are hard, hard, hard, hard, hard, hard, hard.

Sometimes they are soft, soft, soft, soft, soft, soft.

They can’t change their shape, shape, shape, shape, shape, shape.

Liquids they can flow, flow, flow, flow, flow, flow.

They can change their shape, shape, shape, shape, shape, shape.

To fit where they need to go, go, go, go, go, go.

Gas it fills the air, air, air, air, air, air.

GAS IS EVERYWHERE!
